MIPD is a specialized institute with the capacity to take up policy and programmatic research, provide policy directions and develop successful models and frameworks of service delivery systems in the chosen thrust areas. The initial emphasis of MIPD is on the management of health care and population issues. This selection is based on the general agreement that persistent widespread poverty as well as serious social and general inequalities have a significant influence on, and are in turn influenced by, demographic parameters such as population growth, its age-structure and distribution. Some of the completed projects of MIPD have come up with new interpretations of ground reality.
